The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle Concludes Successful 25th Season
May 18 Concert Features Special Oboe and Vocal Performances

Chapel Hill, N.C. (May 8, 2008) - Lorenzo Muti, artistic director and conductor for
The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, announces today that the Orchestra will wrap
up its 25th season with a May 18 concert featuring oboist Joseph Robinson performing
Ralph Vaughan Williams\' \"Oboe Concerto.\" The 3 p.m. concert will be held at the
Carolina Theatre in Durham.

"It is a double pleasure to have Joe Robinson appearing with us," says Muti. "His
longtime collaboration with the New York Philharmonic and many major conductors of
our time secure his stature as a world class performer. Also, his time spent
teaching at Duke University and his longtime relationship with the North Carolina
School of the Arts solidifies his close connection to North Carolina."

Robinson spent 27 years as Principal Oboe for the New York Philharmonic. Since his
retirement in 2005, he remains active in the musical community, serving as Artist in
Residence at Duke University each spring, and teaching at the Bowdoin International
Music Festival in the summer. In addition, Robinson performs at the Bellingham
Festival of Music each summer.

In addition to Robinson\'s performance, the concert will include the presentation of
Gerald Finzi's "A Severn Rhapsody," and Igor Stravinsky's "Pulcinella," with Maria
Antunez (soprano), Martin Nusspaumer (tenor) and Valentin Lanzrein (bass) providing
vocals for the ballet.
